Pet Sitting NZ is a professional support platform for Kiwi pet sitters, from part-time puppy minders to business owners with decades of pet sitting experience. Compassion is an incredibly important part of our work. We aim to understand and support the needs of our community, providing a helping hand and nonjudgmental advice when they need it. We also understand how important pets are to their owners, and have created our Code of Conduct to ensure furry and feathered family members are in safe hands.
Our history
Pet Sitting NZ began in 2016 as a small Facebook group, and has since grown to a network of over 19,000 pet sitters and owners. PSNZ founder, Brittany, was looking for a supportive online community where she could find pet sitting roles - and when she couldn’t find one, she decided to create it.
As the Facebook community grew, pet sitters reached out for business support, resources, advertising opportunities and - above all - a sense of togetherness and belonging. PSNZ grew to meet the needs of the community, evolving from a sitter-owner matching platform to a fully fledged support organisation.
Our team
Brittany Anderson
I am happiest when I'm surrounded by animals, with some of my best memories being from my childhood on our farm. I have been a pet sitter, have a rescue Mastiff X called Sir Nicholas, and am active with animal rescues.
Trish Anderson
I've always adored animals, and currently have three rescue cats. Sharing life with a pet is non-negotiable in our family... the more the merrier actually! It's great to see so many animal lovers in the PSNZ community.
